What are dental implants?

Dental implants are titanium posts with specially activated surfaces. They are placed (implanted) in your jawbone to function in a similar way to a natural tooth root. Your bone grows onto the implants in a process called osseointegration.  After a few months, the implants will form a permanent part of your body.

This is a widely used practice to turn a weak area of the mouth into a strong functional area.

If you would like to inquire or learn more about dental implants please make a booking or give us a call. We are happy to explain them in more detail if required.

Assure you ring prior your visit to confirm. Travelled a distance at early hours am to get to appointment with 10-15 minutes late they cancelled the extraction and left my spouse with a rather huge unpleasant face :/ not happy at all. Bare in mind the ineradicable traffic to assure you get to your appointment you may have to leave over 2hr ahead of time if travelling distance like ourselves. Happy Friday to some.

What Is the Upside of Dental Implants?2021-10-27T02:31:28+00:00

Fortunately, humans get two sets of teeth.

When you lose a single tooth or multiple teeth because of gum disease or dental decay, implants can now replace them and serve as your third set of fixed teeth.

Implants have many upsides, including:

  • They improve your appearance
  • They improve your confidence
  • They can last a lifetime
  • They allow you to have an active lifestyle
  • They improve your ability to eat the foods you like
  • You no longer have to worry about your teeth
  • They never decay because they’re made of titanium

Dental implants, in general, have an up to 98 percent success rate.

How Soon After a Tooth Extraction Can You Have an Implant?2021-10-27T02:32:30+00:00

The dentist places dental implants in your jaw by making precise holes in your bone so that they fit snuggly.

They do this where your teeth are missing but where you have adequate bone to hold the dental implants.

In some cases, it’s possible for them to place dental implants on the same day your dentist extracts your teeth.

Typically, however, it takes around three to six months of healing before you can have your implant placed.

How Long Do Implants Last?2021-10-27T02:33:41+00:00

Dental implants can last a lifetime if you take care of them properly by regularly brushing, flossing, and following your dentist’s recommendations.

While your dentist can’t guarantee the lifetime success of an implant, they can provide you with suggestions and guidelines on how to take good care of your teeth. They’ll base these guidelines on:

  • Your genetic history
  • Proper hygiene procedures
  • Your nutritional habits

Following the guidelines, your dentist gives you will help ensure your implant has the best chance of lasting a lifetime.
